State Mortgage Assistance Resources

Updated March 16, 2023

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) created the Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) to provide funds to homeowners facing a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although HAF is a federal program, it is being administered through all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 3 territories. The U.S. Department of the Treasury is responsible for the review and approval of each individual state or territory plan. To apply for HAF assistance, you must apply directly through your state’s application process. You can find more information and details on applying by clicking on the link for your state in the table below.

Please note some individual state programs have run out of funds. See your state’s website for more details.

For additional information on the program, please go to www.consumerfinance.gov/haf or call (800) 569-4287.
